ConnectingOntario works closely with clinicians as key decision-makers in every aspect of the program from strategic planning to solution design to the development of adoption and training materials. The program encourages and provides opportunities for multi-disciplinary discussions to ensure the region’s needs are met and aligned with the provincial landscape.
Through the expertise and experience of clinical working group members and clinician champions, the program has helped to break down many barriers to success. Lessons learned from local, regional, provincial and national initiatives (e.g., GTA West Diagnostic Imaging Repository [DI-r], Resource Matching and Referral [RM&R], Wait Time Information System [WTIS], Patient Results Online [PRO] and Rapid Electronic Access to Clinical Health Information Portal [REACH]) have also been incorporated.
