Online access to COVID-19 lab test results for Health Care Providers

If you are an authorized Ontario health care provider with access to one of the provincial viewers (ClinicalConnect™, ConnectingOntario ClinicalViewer and eHealth Portal) or an electronic medical record system (with OLIS to EMR) or Hospital Information System (with OLIS integration), you can access novel coronavirus (COVID-19) lab test results stored in Ontario Laboratories Information System (OLIS) in near real-time.

Safety, access and improved care for seniors in Ontario

eHealth Ontario’s Drug Profile Viewer is improving safety and helping prevent adverse drug reactions for patients like Norma Mitchell.

As a retired senior, Norma Mitchell is currently taking a number of medications. Like many patients who show up unexpectedly at an emergency room, she does not always remember her medications and/or their doses.

Fortunately, Norma’s physician at Sunnybrook Hospital, Dr. Mike Feldman has access to the drug profile viewer (DPV). This eHealth Ontario initiative is a secure, Internet-based application that provides authorized health care providers across the province with prescription drug claims information for 2.6 million Ontario Drug Benefit (ODB) and Trillium Drug Program (TDP) recipients.

In fact, not just Sunnybrook Hospital, but all hospitals in the province have 24 hours a day, seven days a week access to DPV since 2005.

Watch the video to learn more about how DPV improves care, safety and access for patients like Norma every day.
