Regional integration initiative name change
eHealth Ontario has recently transitioned the name of the agency’s regional integration initiative to ConnectingOntario.
ConnectingOntario involves leveraging local, regional and provincial assets and connecting existing information technologies in ways that improve patient care and clinical efficiencies. The initiative is enabling the province to achieve an electronic health record (EHR) solution for all Ontarians.
ConnectingOntario involves the co-operation of three regional health information hubs – connectingGTA, connectingSouthWestOntario (cSWO) and connectingNorthernandEasternOntario (cNEO) – to deliver health information across the province.
Ultimately, ConnectingOntario will enable province-wide information sharing by linking the ehealth cluster hubs to a provincial hub.
